I would use dugtrio cause golem is hard to get cause u need to trade it

Golem is worse weakness-wise and very slow, so it will more often then not get OHKOed before it gets to contribute to whatever battle you're in.

Dugtrio's fast, and it can naturally learn EQ at a relatively low level. Firing off EQs really quickly would be a very good thing to have, better if you give it a Rock move like Rock Tomb (I don't think Rock Slide existed then).

i think you should pick dugtrio, he's fast and like the other guy said he learns EQ at a low level.
